Why You Explode: The Hidden Cost of Repressed Anger

What most people miss is this:

If you don’t have access to anger, then fear completely rules you.

If you can’t express anger, fear takes the driver’s seat.

And what happens next is…you build up frustration — missed opportunities pile up:

God, I should’ve asked her out."

"I should’ve told my boss to go fuck himself."

"I should’ve done this, I should’ve done that."

Do that for a year — and eventually, you snap. However, this kind of anger is not fresh, clean anger.

It’s a year’s worth of it — rotting on the shelf.

It’s sick anger.

It’s rage.

It’s depression.

It’s loathing and hatred.

It’s not that fresh, bright, pure anger — which is just heat and power.

It’s old, weary, sick, fucked-up anger.

When that kind of anger comes out, it’s so terrifying that you swear to never let it show again.

So, you start suppressing it all over again.

Now you’re stuck in this loop —where anger gets the blame for your fucked-up behavior, but it was the suppression of anger that caused the fucked-up behavior.

That’s the loop we get trapped in… with anger.
