The problem with many Nice Guys is that nobody grabbed them, sat them down, validated them enough and told them:
"Look, just own it. Just be this. Be weird. Be you. But be shameless about it. Unapologetic about it. Stand up for it."
You still might not be accepted in the earlier years—but just give it a minute.
Because as an adult, you’ll be the one who’s got integrity.
You won’t be scared of being truthful.
You’ll go for what you want.
You’ll create a life you’ve built for you.
Most people will be trying to conform and fit in—and they’re going to be the ones who are miserable, you know?
There’s this inverse ratio between popularity and happiness.
The kids who crushed it in high school? They're often the ones who end up depressed later.
I’ve seen this too many times to not believe it at this point.
Basically, the weird kids who had a tough time in high school—but stuck to their guns and said, “This is who I am. Fuck you guys, I’m gonna do it anyway”—they’re the ones who crush it as adults.
Because they signed up for integrity early.
They didn’t have to make a change later—they just kept doing it.
And integrity? It actually works really well when you’re an adult.
