Stop Putting Attractive Women on a Pedestal: A Guide for Nice Guys

Have you ever thought: "People I'm attracted to are better than me"?

You'll know you have this mindset, and hold this frame, if you get nervous around people you're attracted to or behave differently in their presence compared to how you would with someone you're not attracted to.

Maybe it's the way they look, how they smell, their behaviour, their sense of humour—whatever it is that attracts you.

Whatever catches your attention and makes you feel nervous, or causes you to start showing off, or act in any other way that signals you've changed your behaviour simply because you're attracted to them.

The story you'll tell yourself is something that justifies that change in behaviour, like, "I should be nervous because she's hot," or "I should try to get his attention because he's good-looking."

This idea that you're allowed to change who you are and should do so simply because you feel physical attraction toward someone is a form of justification for letting go of your integrity.

The reality is that physical attraction doesn't give you any accurate information about someone's value or your ability to connect with them.

Often, we're blinded by the things we're attracted to and miss out on great opportunities with people who we could develop an attraction toward if only we got to know them better.

Studies show that the more attractive someone is, the more they tend to get away with. This doesn't mean they're better people, but it does reveal that nearly all of us have this biased perspective and frame.
